Samsung Galaxy Gear vs. Sony Smart Watch 2

Sony Smart Watch 2

The Sony SmartWatch 2 is a slick looking digital watch, with an aluminium body that comes with either a silicon or metal stainless steel wristband. It measures in at 42 x 41 x 9mm. On the wrist it doesn’t look all that different to the digital ‘geek’ watches that have become trendy in the last few years.
The Samsung Galaxy Gear measures 37 x 56 x 11mm.  It’s bulky, there a loads of screws on show and the stainless steel and rubber finish doesn’t exactly scream 'premium'. The strap is also clunky and awkward. In our hands-on review from IFA we said the Galaxy Gear was a “bit of a dog to look at and if it didn’t have all the clever tech packed inside, you’d probably never wear a watch that looked like this.”

Samsung Galaxy Gear

The Galaxy Gear has a 1.63-inch 320 x 320 resolution (277ppi) Super AMOLED display; the Sony SmartWatch 2's LCD display is slightly smaller at 1.6 inches and its resolution also isn’t as impressive at just 220 x 176 (176ppi).
We’ve seen both in action and, while they both do the job – there’s only really one winner…

Winner: Samsung Galaxy Gear

Summary : Galaxy Gear get a "Pick" but it is expensive when comparing with its hardware specifications, Sony Smart Watch 2 is not as good as Gear, but it worth it price.
